CoDaS is a joint M.Sc. two years programme in the area of communications engineering and data science, offered in two formats by five European Partner Universities: a Double Degree Programme, with Técnico Lisboa (University of Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal), Aalto University (Helsinki, Finland) and Grenoble INP Institute of Engineering (Grenoble, France); an Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) Programme, with Técnico Lisboa (University of Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal), Aalto University (Helsinki, Finland), Grenoble INP Institute of Engineering (Grenoble, France), TU Braunschweig (Braunschweig, Germany) and UPC (Barcelona, Spain). Each Partner University will recruit students for the 1st year of the Programme according to their quota, following their usual admission processes; then, the students will go for the 2nd year of the Programme to another Partner University. For instance, the student that enrols on Técnico Lisboa (University of Lisbon) in the 1st year will go to one of the other universities in the 2nd one.
Setting up CoDaS was an initiative of Unite!, University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering aiming at developing a European University by sharing resources and services in education, research and management, through the removal of structural barriers and by generating new frameworks for a European degree. CoDaS will tend to become a European degree in the near future. To start the Programme, the Partner Universities have signed Double Degree agreements, in which students completing the Programme will obtain two diplomas: one from the home Partner University, where they have enrolled in the 1st year, and the other from the host Partner University, where they have performed the mobility in the 2nd year. Each Partner University will award graduated students with a Diploma from the M.Sc. recognised by the Double Degree agreements, together with the corresponding Certificate; in addition, each student will be also awarded a Supplement Certificate, signed by all Partner Universities, establishing the Joint Unite! CoDaS Programme as the “European umbrella” for the degree.
The joint CoDaS M.Sc. Programme has started in September 2022.
